April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July. She began guitar and piano lessons at seven years old. Her interest in writing songs was ignited. At the age of seven April started taking piano and guitar lessons. It sparked her interest to write songs. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time to creating song concepts and practicing the music she was playing. The songwriting began alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA shortly after. Since she was born without a left hand, the woman is an important part of her. But it's not the entire tale. As a result Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't shy away from her handicap, however the focus isn't on the issue either. The message? The message is that we all share many identities, we're more complex than we think we're. Lockhart, via video message sent from her Nashville at home, claims that I do not want that to be a part of myself. I'm much far more than just my physical self. It doesn't affect my life.
